David Jackson
Norman High Principal

Dr. Nick Migliorino, NPS Superintendant, will be introducing the new high school principals: Dr. Kristi Gray (Norman North) and David Jackson (Norman High).

Jackson comes to Norman High with more than 32 years of experience. He began his career in 1987 teaching biology and chemistry at West Charlotte High School in North Carolina, a highly academic inner-city school where graduates went on to attend prestigious universities. He then moved to Tulsa and spent eight years at Tulsa Public Schools prior to 17 years of service at Metro Christian Academy, where he served 12 years as a high school principal, three years as a middle school principal and one year as curriculum director.

During his time as a high school principal, he focused on building relationships and established an academic culture of excellence by implementing additional Advanced Placement courses and consistently improving students’ college entrance exam scores. In 2016, Jackson returned to Tulsa Public Schools, where he currently serves as the Science and STEAM Academic Coordinator for students in grades 6 through 12.

Jackson earned a bachelor’s degree in Science Secondary Education from Oral Roberts University and a master’s in Educational Administration from Oklahoma State University.
