Cap off a great summer season with a fall classic touring event in Norman, showcasing some of the best cycling roads in Central Oklahoma.
Take advantage of a fall Saturday when the Sooners are not playing, and enjoy the changing seasons in the rolling landscapes of southeastern Cleveland County. Challenge yourself to take the long route and ride to the Flat Armadillo Road rest stop to see what Norman’s historic  O’Connell’s Irish Pub and Grill have in store. If  a 54-mile round trip is not your idea of winding down, then ride the 34-mile route, which goes through the Midway rest stop twice, then cruise back to Reaves Park and the Flat Armadillo Festival for music, football and a free lunch from the Midway Deli food truck.
Meanwhile, families can tour Norman’s Campus District with bicycle patrol officers from the Norman Police Department. The ride starts at 10 a.m. and includes historic neighborhoods, the Campus Corner District, Heisman Park and other notable University of Oklahoma sights. The ride ends back at Reaves Park where there will be free lunch, music, inflatable fun for the kids and a TV tent, so football fans can check in on the early games.
The Rotary Road Rally & Flat Armadillo Festival supports the Norman Rotary Club’s partnership with Norman Public Schools to encourage long-term academic success among elementary school students.
