Background
Jason Smith is the President & CEO of the Norman Economic Development Coalition. Smith, a Norman native, was appointed to the position in July of 2015 by the NEDC Board of Directors. Prior to returning to Norman, Smith served as President and CEO of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce for three years and Vice President of Economic Development for the Lincoln (NE) Chamber of Commerce, a role he was in for over nine years.
Smith grew up between Norman and Grandfield, OK. His father was a public school administrator for Norman Public Schools for nearly two decades and owned a business in downtown Norman for 25 years. He is a graduate of Cameron University and has two children, Shanna and Ethan, as well as a granddaughter, Maci Kate.
